Terms of Service

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you can lawfully enter into a binding agreement.

The Service is currently in pre-launch / beta. Access is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and may be limited, throttled, or revoked at any time. Beta features may change, break, or be removed without notice. Promised perks (including the “1 month of VIP free” offer for early sign-ups) are subject to the launch of the paid product and may be adjusted if the launch is delayed or cancelled.

You agree not to:

• Impersonate another person, submit false information, or circumvent identity verification.
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users, or send sexual content involving minors or non-consenting parties.
• Use the Service for spam, scams, illegal solicitation, or any unlawful purpose.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service’s infrastructure.
• Resell or commercially exploit access without permission.

We may suspend or terminate access at our discretion if these rules are violated. Verified users who violate the rules lose their verification permanently.

You retain ownership of any content (messages, profile info, media) you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant CoffeeTalk a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, transmit, and display that content solely as needed to operate the Service. You are responsible for the content you submit and for ensuring it does not violate third-party rights or applicable law.

The Service may offer paid plans (e.g. CoffeeTalk Premium / VIP). Pricing, billing cycles, and refund terms will be displayed at the point of purchase. By subscribing you authorise CoffeeTalk and its payment processor to charge the applicable fees on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless required otherwise by law.

Promotional offers (such as the free first month for early sign-ups) are personal, non-transferable, and have no cash value. We may modify or end promotions at any time.

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content (excluding user content), is owned by CoffeeTalk and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You receive no rights to our IP except a limited, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

The Service relies on third-party providers including Amazon Web Services (for identity verification), Supabase (data storage), Google Analytics, Meta, and Quora (analytics and advertising). Their use of your data is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. See our Privacy Policy for details.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any specific user outcome (language progress, matches, friendships) will result. We do not warrant the conduct of other users. Always exercise good judgement when interacting with strangers online.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoffeeTalk and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50.

You agree to indemnify and hold CoffeeTalk and its operator harmless from any claim or demand arising out of your breach of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of the Service.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for any breach of these Terms or for any reason with reasonable notice where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) will survive.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated to active users by email where possible. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of the UAE, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
